My name is Clara and I’m a fifteen year old student from Dublin.I attend St.Mary’s Holy Faith secondary school in Killester.  I’m sitting my junior cert exams this year and have been studying hard.  I’m a member of the CTYI and am excited to be attending there after the exams this summer.  I’ll be letting you know how I get on in Irish, Geography, French, History and Science.




Hi there.  My name’s David, I go to Bridgetown Vocational College, and I’m a very active 15 year old, who enjoys playing and watching sports, namely golf, soccer and tennis, I like to watch a lot of movies and read a lot of books and will be hoping to do reasonably well in the Junior Cert.  I’ll be blogging about English, Business, Materials Technology (Wood) and Technical Graphics – fingers crossed they go well!




My name is Jack, I am 15, I live in Galway and I go to St. Joseph’s College. I live and breathe music. It’s my passion. I also enjoy the likes of reading and catching up on the day’s news.  The subjects I’ll be covering are English, Business, CSPE and Science.




Hello everybody! I’m Lorraine, I am 15 years old and I’m sitting my Junior Cert this year! I live in County Kildare attending Scoil Mhuire Clane and I’m planning on doing transition year next year! 🙂  I’ll be writing blogs about  Maths, Irish, Religion and Home Economics.





My name is Shahed and I’m fifteen years old and I attend Maryfield College in Dublin. I love music, art and reading. The subjects I will be covering are CSPE, French, History and Music.





Leaving Cert Bloggers


My name is Aoife, I’m 18, from Tipperary and I just finished studying in Loreto Secondary School, Clonmel. I love horse riding, rugby and hockey.  I’m really looking forward to blogging about the exams and I’ll be writing here about Irish, Geography and French.



Hi I’m Hugh and I attended Ardscoil Rís in Limerick. During my time in secondary school I went on multiple student exchanges to Germany and captained my school’s debating teams, both German and English speaking. Outside of school my interests include rowing with Shannon Rowing Club, music and current affairs. After the Leaving Cert, I aim to study Law in UCD.




My name is Katarzyna, I’m eighteen years old and I was born in Poland. I came to Ireland eight years ago and I am doing my Leaving Certificate this year in St. Mary’s Holy Faith Secondary School. I love mathematics and physics and in the future I would like to be a theoretical physicist. I also love classic rock, football, animals and anything that has to do with science.




My name is Sarah, I’m 18, I’m just finished in St. Joseph’s Castlebar,  and I’m hoping to do radiography in UCD next year. I love science (even though I may not necessarily be very good at it), and outside of all things school-related, I love music, dance and politics (again, all things I’m not particularly good at)!





Hi my name is Claire and I’m the current International Officer for the Irish Second Level Students’ Union.  I’m 17 and I’m just finished studying in Mercy College Galway.  I have been on my student council for four years, and through that I have also taken part in the European Youth Parliament Ireland.





Hi, I’m Emmet and I’m the Welfare Officer for the Irish Second Level Students’ Union. I am currently sitting my exams in Coláiste Eamann Rís, Callan, Kilkenny where I am just finished my term as student council chairperson.  I’m really interested in current affairs so hopefully I’m familiar with some of the topics that come up in the various papers – fingers crossed they go well!

Hi everyone, my name’s Dylan and I’m the ISSU President.  I’m a 5th year student in Gaelcholáiste Luimnigh, and I was elected as ISSU president at our AGM last April.  I’m heavily involved in lots of activities including debating and rowing, and in the past I’ve taken part in the BT Young Scientists Competition.  Best of luck to everyone sitting exams – we’re here for you every step of the way.

Hi there, I’m Brendan and I’m your ISSU Education Officer. I’ve just finished 5th year in Colaiste Eamon Rís, Kilkenny and I’ll be keeping an eye on all of the exam papers and giving feedback throughout the process.
