Meet the Students who bring you the 2013 ISSU online exam blog
Junior Cert Bloggers
Asha: You might have guessed it, I’m a junior cert student this year. I like to think my witty comments and sarcasm define me amongst my circle of friends. I did well in a maths competition in first year and world spelling day in second year. I love archery. Haven’t shot much this year but after the exams are over I’ll shoot many targets full of arrows. Hopefully the exams go alright, with metal half done, the action project and art finished it should be less of a load. Looking forward to telling you all what the papers were like! 😀
Mark: Hi all, I’m Mark and I’m the current president of the ISSU and I attend Ratoath College in County Meath. I’d be fairly academic so hopefully the exams will go well. I’m also a keen swimmer and compete in galas etc. for it. I also love drama and theatre (not to mention debating!), so hopefully I’ll be able to use that to my advantage in English! I’ll be commenting on English, Irish, CSPE, Metalwork and Business Studies. Good luck to everyone and at least we have the Summer to look forward to!
Hi! My name is Katelyn: and I attend St. Brigid’s Vocational School in Loughrea, Co. Galway. I am a Junior Certificate student and I love music. I play the piano, guitar ukulele and bagpipes.
Christopher: Christopher is just finished 3rd year in Ratoath College.
Leaving Cert Bloggers
My name is Jessica. I’m 18 since April. I live in Douglas quite near the city in Cork and I go to school in St. Peter’s in passage west, I love it there! I used to play hockey before sixth year. I work in New Look, a clothes shop in Douglas at the weekends, I love fashion. I hope to study arts in UCC next year and go on to do history and geography teaching at second level.
Hi, my name is John, I’m 18 and I’ve just finished studying for the leaving cert in Presentation College Headford in County Galway. I am interested in Maths and Physics and hope to study theoretical physics in Trinity College next year (I know, sounds horrible, right?). Outside of school, I love athletics, particularly distance running, and like a good culchie, I play a bit of Gaelic football too. I also enjoy anything to do with music; I play several instruments, in styles such as traditional, jazz and classical.
Oh, and I’ll celebrate my 19th birthday in the most fun way imaginable: by sitting my leaving cert physics paper!
Dylan: Dylan is the honorary president of the ISSU and has just finished 6th year in Gaelcholaiste Luimnigh.
Sheila: I am from Blessington in Wicklow and I attend Cross and Passion College Kilcullen in Kildare. My main interest is drama. I have taken part in many shows since the age of 4 and I continue to take speech and drama classes every weekend. I also intend to do drama and performance next year in college. Singing dance and playing the flute are also important to me. I also love sport and have played soccer for a number of years with local and school teams. Running is another hobby which I enjoy and I am a member of my local running club.
Nathan: Nathan is the Public Relations Officer of the ISSU and has just finished 6th year in CBS Wexford.
Jenny: My name is Jenny and I’m 18 years old. I attend Maryfield College in Drumcondra, which I’m really going to miss next year. I love nothing better than playing guitar, reading, cycling and taking photographs much to the horror of my friends (I’m really good at getting bad angles). I hope to study Psychology next year in Trinity College, fingers crossed, so hopefully the exams don’t go too badly or you’ll see me blogging again next year!
Sophie: Sophie is just finished 6th year in Eureka Secondary School.
Kevin: Kevin is just finished 6th year in Abbey CBS.
