ISSU Returning to School Stance

ISSU Returning to School Stance

The ISSU will be advocating for a staggered return to school prioritising in-person tuition for exam year students and students with Special Education Needs (SEN). Additionally, the ISSU will be advocating for the urgent sourcing of HEPA filters for all classrooms as well as additional adjustments to be made to the Leaving Certificate and Junior Cycle exam papers for 2022 to account for the disruption students have faced as a result of the pandemic.

The ISSU will be at the meeting with Minister Foley & Public Health Representatives tomorrow to ensure the students' voice is represented in the discussions regarding the return to school.

We are eager to work with fellow stakeholders and the Department of Education to find a solution that works for everyone.

Stay tuned in on social media for official sources of information from the Department of Education, Minister Foley and the ISSU.
