Junior Cert Metalwork

Mark - Higher Level

Ah, the last exam for me. Well I wasn't at all stressed about this exam, its an easy exam. And of course there are the practical's done previously which make up most of the marks. Q 1 is compulsory for everyone to answer but then you get a choice of various questions and pick 3. I uncreatively decided to do Q2, Q3 and you've guessed it, Q 4. although they were the easiest for me. Well I was so glad that the blast furnace came up. And as per usual there wasn't any issues with the paper. So at last its all over. Freedom!!! :) Please note: blog posts reflect the opinion of the author and not necessarily the opinion of the Irish Second-Level Students’ Union. Junior Cert Science

Asha - Higher Level

Hi again peoples. I love science so I was quite looking forward to today. Apart from the biology. That's always a nightmare with all those learnt off words. I was happy to see though that they made us think things through logically (Qt 1 a. on genetics), rather than give us only leading questions. Still though I may have mixed up the leg bones with the arm ones... oh well! Chemistry was a lovely little section with the chemical equation quite fair. No they weren't looking for the chemical equation for acid rain they just wanted you to use an equation you know that involved calcium carbonate and balance it. Why were people asking for graph paper? The question specifically said the solubility of salt was to be on the same graph. Am the solubility increasing? Physics was great. Really enjoyed it. The electronics question was lovely, just a variable resistor. All in all I am pretty confident I did quite well and there is still Coursework B and the experiment book if I am deluded. Please note: blog posts reflect the opinion of the author and not necessarily the opinion of the Irish Second-Level Students’ Union. Junior Cert History

Katelyn - Higher Level

History was very good this year. The first three questions were grand and handy. I was very pleased with question four, the people in history question. Martin Luther and Columbus came up and I knew them inside out. Happy out. Question five was fine. It was on the Plantations. Nothing too challenging there. For question six, the Renaissance and WW2 came up so that suited me down to the ground. Overall, a good paper.  Please note: blog posts reflect the opinion of the author and not necessarily the opinion of the Irish Second-Level Students’ Union. Junior Cert French

Katelyn - Higher Level

The tape for French was a pretty nice one. It was very easy and there was nothing too challenging about it. The comprehensions were fine but the last two were a little bit difficult. There was no problem in regard to the note. It was very easy. The letter kind of threw me  off a bit though. I felt that the points were kind of unusual but it was still manageable. Overall, not a bad  paper.

Junior Cert Business

Mark - Higher Level

So today I had my business exam. Well I was certainly glad that insurance came up (in both papers actually). Trading, Profit and Loss Account and Balance Sheet was easy, and I got it balanced :) ! being honest I think that both papers were easy enough. #PREDICTABLE I found the forms of business question very easy to answer on as well. There is of course a lot of choice in the business papers, getting to choose 4 of the 6 long questions. Regarding the short questions in paper one; easy, although the forms of communication question was a bit odd.Dear State Examinations Commission, please don't try and be funny, because you're not. Pie chart: How does Lady Gaga like her steak? Well done/Rare/Medium Rare/RAW RAW RAW RAW    Possible trick question, she would probably be wearing it. But no, jokes aside a lot of the business questions were common sense, obviously revision helps! French and History tomorrow, most of the exams are done now for me. I'll be doing my last blog on the metalwork exam (which will be my last exam, and then FREEDOM!!!)   Please note: blog posts reflect the opinion of the author and not necessarily the opinion of the Irish Second-Level Students’ Union. Junior Cert CSPE

Katelyn

Well, as expected, C.S.P.E. was a breeze. The very first question in Section 1 was shockingly easy as it was only matching names to faces. It was plain sailing right through to the end of Section 1 after that. Common knowledge would have got you by on them.

Section 2 again was effortless. I did question 1,2 and 4. Taking the information from the leaflet was very obvious and the questions about our own opinions were manageable enough.

For the final section, Section 3, I did question 1 which involved an invitation. The invitation was a piece of cake and I added a lot of colour to ensure I got my 6 marks. The final 2 questions were very straightforward. Overall, it was a very exam that wasn't stressed over and I am proud to say I stayed for the whole allocated time. Time Well Spent!

Mark

Well there's not a huge amount to say about CSPE, it was short and sweet. Selecting the names of Michael D. Higgins, Barack Obama, José Manuel Barroso and Ban Ki Moon and putting them with their faces was easy. No bother with filling in the blanks full marks their too. The reading comprehensions were very simple although I think some questions weren't exactly about giving your opinion and more so giving an opinion that was deemed appropriate. CSPE as a whole isn't really about educating people in civics and stimulating debate. CSPE is just easy marks and there weren't any surprises, the exam isn't even vital as you get most of your marks for your action project report. At least maths paper 2 (and 1 for that matter) of project maths phase three were easy too. So far it's all going well, business studies tomorrow. Please note: blog posts reflect the opinion of the author and not necessarily the opinion of the Irish Second-Level Students’ Union.
