#LC2017#FrenchMichelle Chiperi Aivazova - Coláiste EindeThis morning I woke up not being able to stomach breakfast. French for me was a bluff exam, one I could have seriously just wrote down what I knew. That's what happened, the comprehensions were easy and the opinion pieces were all so easy I left an hour early because I had so much time.

#Irish - #JC2017 - Maria Hayes
#JC2017 #IrishMaria Hayes - Scoil Ruáin KillenaulePaper 1 started off as usual, the tape test. It went really well I was able to clearly understand the speaker! When that was finished I went straight to the essay to put myself in a good mood. I wrote about "when my friend and I saw a car accident when we got lost in Dublin City". I was delighted with how that went. I then did the grammar, it was easy enough too we had to write the passage in the future tense. My favourite tense! I finished off the paper with the comprehensions, they were understandable so I was very happy with them also!2 and a half hours later I got landed with paper 2. The superintendents first pointed out a spelling mistake and then I looked at the themes for Prós and Filíocht, I'll come to them in a second. I began with the Prós comprehension it went well. Then it came to the 'themes' you had to write about different places. I chose "áit scanrúil" which perfectly suited the novel I studied "Imithe" all was good. Then I moved on to the filíocht section. Read the questions and answered 2 from A and 1 from B (with great difficulty). Themes section came and all that was going on in my mind was "should have learned An tÓzón! Should have learned an tÓzón" but I dealt with what I had I chose "tragóid" (which at the time was only guessing it meant tragedy) and I wrote about "Reoiteog Mharfach". After the exam I found out that tragóid meant tragedy, I was so relieved ?. I then chose letter B in which I had to write to a friend about how I met someone and what I did with them. Not so confident with the letter but my opening and closing paragraphs are perfect! All in all, I'm delighted with how the Irish exams went!Check out more JC BLogs here: http://issu.ie/the-issu-exam-blogs…/issu-exam-blogs-jc-2017/#StateExams2017
Junior Cert German
Sophie - Higher Level
Today was the German exam, even though I did pretty bad in the mocks, it was hard to be nervous. It was my second last exam. We began with the listening test. It wasn't overly hard, but as usual, I ended up guessing one or two answers. Then we had matching advertisements activity and an another more detailed advert, they were both very easy. Then we had two comprehensions, I was suprised that I could understand them. I happily went on to answering the questions that followed. But then the letter came along. The first couple of paragraphs went okay, but I found it got really hard towards the end. The short note was next. I knew it was an easy one but I was completely blank for words. I wasn't very confident, but I wrote it to the best of my ability. I had about 10 minutes at the end to look over everything. To say the least, I think it went well in the end.

Leaving Cert Irish Paper 2
Keelyn - Higher Level
The Irish paper this year was an absolute delight. As my teacher had predicted Nelson Mandela was one of the comprehensions and of course Seamus Heaney managed to show his face in comprehension two. As many of us had predicted Dis and An Spailpin Fanach came up although the questions were quite strange. Dis came with the usual question about the role of Sean's wife but then a question about the importance of the survey and one to do with the comhra. You picked two out of the three. The spailpin question was one about the life of the spailpin, the feeling that most effected you and soemthing about the metre of the poem which I couldn't talk about in English not to mind Irish. An trial was a nice easy question about Bean Ui Chatasaigh and her role in the drama.I was quite surprised with how lovely and straightforward this paper was and im very happy about it overall:D

The relief of having both Irish papers over and done with! After paper one I was kind of worried that they would give a hard paper two because paper one was easy enough (I thought anyway) but my god were we blessed! I tried cramming all those poems and stories in right before the test, which worked wonders.
I opened the paper and looked to the back to see what poems and stories came up. I was quite happy with the stories that came up because I literally went over them the night before and knew them off the top of my head! And the poems that came up - all I can say to whoever put Géibheann on the paper... THANK YOU!! That is my favorite poem... I knew it so well so as you can imagine I was pretty happy to see it there, plus I went over it just before the exam so it was fresh in my mind. I thought that the two comprehensions were decent enough.
The Irish used in both the passage and the questions was easily understood, in my opinion. Same with the poems and stories, I could understand the questions easily enough, with the exception of a few of course... I'm quite glad with the paper two we got and hope everyone else is too :)
Overall though both the papers, one and two, were decent enough and I really can't complain. I'm happy as can be :) I hope everyone else feels the same way I do and good luck with the rest of the exams!

Leaving Cert Irish Paper 2
Sheila - Higher Level
So Irish paper 2... Well what a great paper. I have never been happier with an Irish paper I thought the comprehensions were surprisingly easy. They were so easy I was sure I had missed something but there you have it they were generous with the comprehensions this year. The only difficulty I had was the grammar question on the second comprehension. The Pros question was Oisin. I'm sure a lot of people were delighted with that because every teacher seems to have drilled Bealoidis into each students head. The twist was the second aspect to the question however that too was manageable. Mo Ghra Sa is one of the harder poems I think but the questions were easy to understand and they even put in a question on the poet which is great because its something you would have learned off. Then An Triail, which had the added twist of having to talk about Padraig which was the last thing I wanted but they allowed you to show his influence on her life so you could continue on speaking about Maire once you explained his relevance. Hope every one is doing well and the exams are flying by. Please note: blog posts reflect the opinion of the author and not necessarily the opinion of the Irish Second-Level Students’ Union. Junior Cert French
Katelyn - Higher Level
The tape for French was a pretty nice one. It was very easy and there was nothing too challenging about it. The comprehensions were fine but the last two were a little bit difficult. There was no problem in regard to the note. It was very easy. The letter kind of threw me off a bit though. I felt that the points were kind of unusual but it was still manageable. Overall, not a bad paper.
