I'm so happy with the way it turned out the topics that came up were amazing, couldn't have asked for a better paper.I'm a very slow writer so for me timing was always an issue, however I finished the exam right on time this time. I don't know what else I can say, I'm overall very happy with the German.If you do German I suggest you focus on the reading comprehensions. And then the letter and then the theme question and finally the Grammar.Quidditch came up in the aural, which is the last place I expected to come actually I never expected it to come up at all. Today was the Irish exam, everyone was terrified coming into school today. When we got paper 1, I had a quick read through it. At the beginning there was the two “Leamhthuiscint”s, they weren’t as bad as I thought they would be. But even before that there was the listening test, I found it very easy. In the “Trialacha Teanga Comhtheacsula ”, I wasn’t very confident. But I gave it my best shot, although I’m not very good at grammar. We had to change the words into the present tense (Aimsir Laithreach ). Everyone was praying for the past tense, but the present tense is pretty easy too.I was really nervous about the “Ceapadoireacht” section at the end. I was so happy when I saw the “Laethanta Saoire” question. I knew exactly what to write. I wrote 2 A4 pages for that question. Which I was overjoyed with because that question was worth 50 marks. Paper 2 I found extremely hard. The unseen “Pros” I wasn’t sure what the story was about. But I think I answered it okay. The “Filiocht” I found average. I definitely answered well.Also the studied poetry was good I could use the poem “An Blascaod Mor Anois” so I was good in the poetry aspect of the paper. The Letter on the other hand, was awful. In my opinion I thought the subjects were very unusual. I ended up writing a letter about a new computer game I had got recently. I was disappointed, as I really studied for the letter but nothing I had studied came up. Tomorrow is Geography and Maths paper1, wish me luck!

Paper 1.The first part of the exam was the aural section. I found cuid A quite easy as it was easy to understand the people talking and the questions were not hard to understand. Cuid B I found a little harder as the people on the c.d were talking quite fast I thought but still answerable. Cuid C I found the hardest out of all parts of the aural.Next were the Léamhthuiscints. I was happy with the reading comprehensions on The Hobbit and and Festival. I found that they were quite easy to find the answers.I found that the verb section was quite easy as it only have a few verbs to change and it was into the present tense.Also the grammar section I found quite easy as well.The last section on paper 1 was the ceapadoireacht. My class were always told to answer question B part ii about the event that happened. We were taught how to write about a car accident or a fire but suprisingly a funny event that happened in school came up. My class found this quite hard to answer.Paper 2.I started paper 2 off with the Litir as I found it had the most marks for a single question. I answered B and found it easy enough but little bits hard to answer as I was not quite sure what parts of one of the points meant.I then answered the prós question Q.2. part B first.I studied the prós " Díoltas an Mhadra Rua" by Seán Ó'Dálaigh, so I found it quite easy to answer as one of the mothuchains was Díoltas. I found the reading comprehension for prós quite hard at times as I was not sure what the question was saying or what some of the words in the comprehension meant.I then answered the Filíocht question. I answered B for Q.4 .I also found that the studied poem was quite easy to answer and one of the types of people went perfectly with the poem. I finished my paper as much as I could with the unseen poetry . I found this the hardest section as I did not know all of the words from the poems or questions. Though it was hard I tried my best to answer the exams and I'm quite happy.

Leaving Cert German
John - Higher Level
No major surprises here in a pretty fair paper. As usual, the reading comprehensions were abstract to say the least. The extract from a literary text concerned an overworked journalist falling in love with a life-sized stuffed pig she sees in a toy shop. Those Germans! In the final question, we were asked to explain how the narrator's outlook on life had been changed by the pig. Really, who writes this stuff? The journalistic text was banal in comparison, merely trying to promote the idea of house-swapping holidays. Although the first half of the grammar question was straightforward, the section on adjective endings (which appear to be governed by an infinite number of rules) caused me a fair bit of head-scratching. While the general themes in the letter weren't anything out of the ordinary, the way they were presented was somewhat awkward. Interestingly, I was asked if I blogged, although my limited German vocabulary meant I was forced to lie to my imaginary German penfriend. I didn't find the tape too bad, but unfortunately it wasn't quite as easy as last year's. Ah well, eight down, only two to go. Freedom's getting ever closer! Well, as expected, C.S.P.E. was a breeze. The very first question in Section 1 was shockingly easy as it was only matching names to faces. It was plain sailing right through to the end of Section 1 after that. Common knowledge would have got you by on them.
Section 2 again was effortless. I did question 1,2 and 4. Taking the information from the leaflet was very obvious and the questions about our own opinions were manageable enough.
For the final section, Section 3, I did question 1 which involved an invitation. The invitation was a piece of cake and I added a lot of colour to ensure I got my 6 marks. The final 2 questions were very straightforward. Overall, it was a very exam that wasn't stressed over and I am proud to say I stayed for the whole allocated time. Time Well Spent!

Well there's not a huge amount to say about CSPE, it was short and sweet. Selecting the names of Michael D. Higgins, Barack Obama, José Manuel Barroso and Ban Ki Moon and putting them with their faces was easy. No bother with filling in the blanks full marks their too. The reading comprehensions were very simple although I think some questions weren't exactly about giving your opinion and more so giving an opinion that was deemed appropriate. CSPE as a whole isn't really about educating people in civics and stimulating debate. CSPE is just easy marks and there weren't any surprises, the exam isn't even vital as you get most of your marks for your action project report. At least maths paper 2 (and 1 for that matter) of project maths phase three were easy too. So far it's all going well, business studies tomorrow. So I came into the school this morning to start Irish paper 1, which I felt confident in. The aural went great overall and thankfully there weren't any issues such as heavy rain! So at least we're getting something from the good weather. After we got the listening art finished I skipped through to the grammar questions, changing a paragraph to the aimsir chaite was beyond easy :)I then chose to do an essay on an incident that happened when you were working in a shop (In my case this was a fire, which I had prepared loads on so I jumped with joy to see that it was based indoors). I began planning it out and writing down a list a phrases that I should include in it and I managed to get more than enough of them into it. Then I came back to the reading comprehensions, which I usually dread, but fortunately they were manageable and I think I did great in them. So I was entering into paper two very confidently, even if Irish isn't my strongest subject.Now I really dislike paper two usually but that's mainly due to the unstudied poetry and unstudied story. So I decided to get the studied poem and story done first and the choices of themes and type of people suited mine perfectly. Then of course we had the choices of letters to do, where I chose B which was about you being a member of a band. That was no big deal and was a bit too easy really. And then came the unstudied questions... Not the best part of the exam. But I gave it a good guess anyway so hopefully it didn't do too much damage. Then of course I have the marks from the oral too. Overall, I'm feeling confident with my Irish exam. Geography and Maths paper 1 is next up

This paper wasn't a bad one. The tape was reasonable and the reading comprehensions were manageable. The Aimsir Chaite came up for the blog. It made my day. The scéal options were very good as-well.
